Holding a client's design language across a whole product family
Newscos came to me with product sketches for a new line of bathroom products, and a problem: they needed variants fast, and every variant had to stay recognisably theirs and stay injection-mouldable.
I translated their sketches into a parametric system in Rhino and Grasshopper. Rather than delivering static models, I delivered the geometry that generates them.
Holding someone else’s design language
The design intent was the client’s, not mine. The work was identifying what actually carried their language — facet angle relationships, shoulder proportion, edge behaviour — and encoding those as the parts that hold constant while dimensions and surface features move around them.
That is the same architecture I use in my own products, applied to a design DNA I didn’t author.
Accessible complexity
I exposed the system through a simplified control panel so the client’s team could adjust dimensions, proportions and surface features directly, without CAD expertise and without opening the definition.
Injection-moulding constraints live inside the system. Nothing the team can produce is unmouldable.
Through several refinement cycles the definition got simpler to operate, not more capable — the goal was that non-specialists could drive it confidently.
Outcome
Iteration time dropped sharply, and the client could explore variations independently while brand consistency and manufacturability held.
The resulting line became their best-selling product. The relationship ran five years.
